Lordsburg, NM – Voters across Senate District 35 have received several campaign fliers in their mailboxes falsely depicting Neomi Martinez Parra as not supportive of public safety and law enforcement. To clarify her support for public safety and law enforcement Neomi Martinez Parra released the following statements from herself and her husband Eddie G. Parra, a retired federal law enforcement agent and former Deming police officer.

Neomi Martinez Parra Statement: Crystal Diamond’s accusations about my support for public safety and law enforcement are false and reckless because the attack is aimed directly at a law enforcement family; my family.

As the spouse of a law enforcement officer, I can tell you that I have witnessed rewarding moments, and I have witnessed heart-wrenching moments. I have lived through the fear that at any moment I would be awakened by that knock on the door in the wee hours of the morning – that my husband was not coming home to us. The Parra Family has been in law enforcement for decades. Living in a law enforcement home is what I have been proud of and cherish. The law enforcement family is our heritage.

I support our law enforcement officers and I DO NOT support defunding the police. Furthermore, we must protect our law enforcement and NOT abolish qualified immunity.

If Crystal Diamond is willing to attack one law enforcement family for political gain who is to say she won’t do it again.

Eddie G. Parra Statement: Many of you in this district are aware of our long family history of law-enforcement careers within the criminal justice system, retro-active to my grand-father in the early 1900’s. We, the Parra family have and continue to display a great deal of respect and support for all law enforcement.

My wife, Neomi, married into a large family of blue and Ms. Diamonds recent outburst about Neomi’s lack of support for law-enforcement, implying that Neomi is in favor of defunding the police is ludicrous and on the contrary.

In addition, Ms. Diamond has made untruthful comments regarding Neomi’s Tax status and teaching credentials. I can assure you that Neomi fully supports law enforcement. I can also assure you that after an audit, The IRS later ruled in favor of us and a reimbursement was issued.

Neomi obtained a Master’s Degree from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Western New Mexico University. Neomi has also obtained a teaching license number from the State of New Mexico.

I want to be clear; Ms. Diamond’s untruthful tactics are to try and vilify Neomi in an attempt to advance her own campaign. We are a family of honor and integrity with strong moral values. In closing, I humbly ask for your vote and support to elect Neomi Martinez-Parra as your next Senator in District 35.

God bless all of you and God bless the United States of America.”

Doña Ana County Sheriff Endorses in Senate District 35 race: Neomi Martinez Parra was recently endorsed by Doña Ana County Sheriff Kim Stewart who stated, “Neomi will ensure that law enforcement and public safety have the resources they need to do their job and that they have sound policies in place at the state level. Neomi will never shortchange public safety or law enforcement, and that is why I am endorsing Neomi Martinez Parra for State Senate.”
